EDIT: Since a lot of people seem to find this post by googling the default name for the hero/company, I might as well add that according to the official character guide (available only in Japanese), the hero’s “unofficial official” name is Sieg (German for “victory”), the company is called “Viele Wege” (also German, “many ways”) and the castle “rätselhafte” (a grammatically quentionable version of the German adjective rätselhaft, “mysterious/enigmatic/puzzling”).
“We should think of a name first.”
“But we already have names! I’m Rahel, that’s–”
“No, I mean for our group. Something like “Orange Company” or “Unicorn Company.”
Ahahahaha. My shiny new strategist, I ♥ you. As will everybody else who recognises the names he comes up with (as well as the trend that strategists suck at naming things, though nothing will ever top Lucretia’s idea to name the castle “Castle of the May Sigh Shimmering on the Pale Blue Water” (or Lyon’s answer – “You can’t name the Prince’s castle something like that! …And besides, that’s way too many letters!”). Five hours and a bit into Suikoden Tierkreis, I’m more than ready to share my first impressions… in 2600 words, it seems.
Contains general spoiler-free impressions; light plot spoilers for the first five hours of the game (up to the point where you get to name your group) will be marked accordingly.
